SWTOR: Mirialan Agent by maqeurious SWTOR: Mirialan Agent by maqeurious
My second go at Daz3d, and this time I was trying to figure out lighting. It's more difficult then I thought.

Anywho, this is my imperial agent sniper, Khryseis. When I first made her in game, I chose to make her skin color anything other then green like a normal(?) mirialan. Well, trust my guildmates to point out every moment they got that my poor agent ended up having jaundice! Bitches.

I like what you did with your agent, she looks great. I have mirialan gunslinger, and chiss operative, but I loved the agent story so much that I created a mirialan sniper, for kicks. :D

She looks good! When I played SWTOR most of my toons were Mirialans, I thought they were the prettiest race in the game. :) And trust me, I know all about lighting. I've been a DAZ user since 2007-ish and I still have trouble with lighting.

Hell of a lot better than my second go. :D *hides.really.old.renders*

Lighting is a bitch, but I like how it came out here.

One thing I do is work on one light at a time and see how it bounces off the character. I usually use spots.

Keep an eye on Dreamlight3D. He sometimes has deals for around $20 US.

Boo guildmates! That's what I've tried the couple of times I've tried to make a Mirialan character...get him/her looking as normal-ish as possible, then nice tats. Gorgeous nevertheless!

Very cool. The contrast is struggling to pull through on the hair. But other than that, this is one pretty neat render.

Maybe the gun could have been lighter too. a lot of details cant be seen. Cant wait to see more though.

Yes, focusing on props will be my next big thing. I just couldn't figure out how to get it right. I need to work out what shaders are and do, and hopefully that will help lol.

If I may, overall image is really nice and yes lighting is a bitch!! One suggestion is to get a good set of lights like Studio Light Pro for D|S [link] It does most all the work for you. Secondly if you're playing with individual lights, turn on the shadow mapping and play with it. The lower the percentage for Shadow Softness the harder/darker the shadow and vice versa. Same goes with Diffuse and Straight 'On' light. Lighting is what makes or breaks a scene. Think about where your light source is coming from and go from there....and above all, have fun with it. Don't let it frustrate you to the point of not wanting to do it again. DAZ has some great tutorials on Youtub for lighting and such. You just have to search them out.

Have a blast and she looks great!!
